Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu employs a range of grappling techniques designed to subdue opponents using non-violent methods, emphasizing leverage, angles, pressure, timing, and an understanding of human anatomy. Rather than relying on strikes or kicks, BJJ focuses on close-contact techniques such as holds, chokes, and joint manipulations. Practitioners can train in either a traditional ‘gi’—a kimono-like outfit—or ‘no-gi’ attire, which typically consists of shorts and a rash guard. We offer both GI and No-GI classes every week.
